Reading (Coaches)

I attended elementary, middle, and high school here in Bradley County.  I received my B.S. degree in K-8 Education from Carson-Newman College. I also have a Master's Degree in Reading Instruction from University of Tennesssee at Chattanooga.  I earned an additional 45 hours from Cumberland University.

I have 29 years of experience.  I am very fortunate that all these years have been at North Lee.  I started out as a first grade teacher, then after 8 years, I began teaching third grade.  After a 3 month maternity leave, I returned to North Lee as a fourth grade teacher.  Then, I returned to the third grade and have spent most of my career with this age group. I now will serve as the instructional coach to our school.

My name is Sherri Riggs.  I have been married for 26 years to Tim.  He is the principal at Hopewell Elementary School. We have one son, Bryson.  He is attending the University of Chattanooga.  I have a long-haired daschund.  Her name is Camy. We have three other dogs at our house.   We attend Westwood Baptist Church.  I am in the choir. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I also love to read and cook. I enjoy walking in my neighborhood and in our community.
